The Chronology

Messrs KL Quah & Associates is a legal firm registered with the Malaysian Bar Council on 02 April 2010. The sole proprietor of the said firm is Lynette KL Quah, a licensed practitioner called to the Malaysian Bar on 16 January 2004 as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Lynette Quah graduated and obtained her LLB (Hons) from University of London. She then obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice before joining Messrs Paul Chong & Nathan, a leading banking litigation firm in Malaysia, in 2003 under the pupillage of its Partner Mr Hardeep Singh Jessy. Lynette was subsequently retained in the firm as an associate where she specialised in banking debt recovery, including civil, foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings.

Lynette then joined Messrs Mureli Navaratnam in 2005 where she headed the conveyancing department. Her major portfolio was the Seri Tanjung Pinang development which became the new landmark of Penang under the development of E&O Properties. Whilst in the said firm, she also obtained guidance and knowledge in handling miscellaneous civil litigation matters from Mr Mureli himself, the current (2007-2010) Penang Bar Committee Chairman and a renowned civil litigator in the nation.

The corporate of world of multinational companies welcomed Lynette towards 2007 where she joined Dell Asia Pacific Sdn as a Contracts Specialist. In Dell, she managed and drafted contracts for the General Procurement department, liaising with business partners within and outside Dell in negotiating terms of various procurement contracts.

It wasn't long before Lynette returned to the corridors of the courts when she joined Messrs Zaid Ibrahim, a leading regional law firm and Malaysia’s largest legal firm in January 2008. During her tenure in Zaid Ibrahim, she gained vast experience under the guidance of the Penang Branch litigation partner Mr Khoo Kay Ping (author of Bankruptcy Law in Malaysia) as she headed the general litigation department. Her portfolio included but not limited to arbitration matters, debt recovery for goods sold and delivered, contested banking debt recovery matters, land and estate matters, divorce proceedings, injunction applications, matters pertaining breach of trust and fiduciary duties, industrial relations matters and maritime law.

Today, Lynette has set up her own legal practice under the name and style of Messrs KL Quah & Associates, promising flexible hours and a work-life balance. As the sole proprietor of her firm she has assumed responsibilities directly to client, hence her work scope now covers marketing, direct liaison with clients, opponent lawyers, judges, other government bodies, all levels of corporations, keeping of accounts, decision making, management of a business and of course problem solving within the legal field.
